Say it loud, say it proud
with a badge full of words

They say a picture paints a thousand words, but sometimes you only need one or two or a handful of words to get your message across.

Badges with just words on them can be really effective communicators.

It is surprising how much information you can fit on a one inch badge, but if you've got a little ot a lot to say for yourself, our advice is to keep it simple.

Text should be bold and dark - black or dark green for example.

The background should provide maximum contrast so white or a pale yellow works well. Or for white text, go dark on the background colour.

Think of your audience too. Young eyes can read the small text on a badge far better than older eyes can.

That's a lot of words to fit on a wee badge, especially when there's a small logo too. But it does work (the image doesn't do it justice - in real life it is clearer). It was made for school children who will have no problem reading it, but if it had been for a much older age group, they would struggle. Horses for courses!
